Project managers for the regional Better Business Challenge say the initiative was so successful that they want to do it again.
Past participants and entrepreneurs met at CitySpace Thursday to plan round two of the challenge.
Project manager Teri Kent says she is thrilled with how businesses have found creative ways to reduce waste and use less energy.
"A thousand actions were completed by various businesses in Charlottesville as a part of the challenge. If we could double that, if we could triple that, if every business in Charlottesville could do 10 of our actions then we would have a better place," she said.
Kent hopes to launch the latest part of the challenge at the beginning of 2013.
