Best Buy Ramp Improvement Project to Cost More Than Expected

Posted: Updated:

The Best Buy ramp improvement project is going to cost more than expected.  It will cost $7.3 million, $2.5 million more than first thought.

State and federal funds will pay for that higher price tag.  The goal is to expand the current one-lane interchange, where Route 29 intersects the 250 Bypass, to two lanes in order to improve safety and traffic flow.

New retaining walls will account for the majority of the increase.  Construction is scheduled to begin in 2014.
