A quiet change is in the air for the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport.
On August 1, Silver Airways will take over the United Express flights between the valley and Dulles International Airport. Silver has signed a two-year contract to operate the commercial service, which has grown more than 150 percent over the past five years.
With the new carrier, comes a more competitive schedule.
Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport Manager Greg Campbell said, "Some of the flight times have been revised to better meet the connecting opportunities at United's hub at Dulles. And also in October, when the schedule's fully in, we'll have an early-morning arrival from Dulles, which is something we currently do not have."
Campbell says valley passengers will also notice the newer aircraft that Silver Airways uses, which should prove to be quieter and more reliable.
