A second victim of Sunday's crash in Nelson County has passed away.
According to Virginia State Police, a Dodge Neon was traveling east on Route 840 when the driver failed to stop for the posted stop sign. The Neon continued through the intersection and collided with a northbound Honda GL 1800 motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, 76-year-old Alphonse Beaulieu of Rhode Island, died Tuesday afternoon at the University of Virginia Medical Center. His wife, Rina, died at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Neon, a 17-year-old West Virginia male, and two of his four passengers suffered minor injuries and were transported to UVA Medical Center for treatment. The driver was treated and released from the hospital Sunday.
Virginia State Police say charges are pending.
