Augusta County ranks high in the state of Virginia for alcohol related crashes and it has been given $100,000 to do something about it.
The Valley Community Services Board (VCSB) was awarded a grant for more than $100,000 to address drunk driving in the valley.
While Tuesday night's VCSB forum in Verona about drunk driving was sparsely attended, it hopes more people will come to future forums to gain some insight from the community.
Diane Kellogg with the VCSB said, "As we sit in our offices and agencies we don't know. This is something that everyone in the community needs to share so we can put strategies in place to change it."
The board is currently surveying 18 to 24-year-olds with the hope of designing and implementing a plan to prevent drinking and driving.
People taking the survey have a chance to win an iPad, iPod Touch, or a $200 gas card.
