Mint Spring Debris Collection Site to Close Sunday

The Albemarle County Parks and Recreation Department announce the closure of the debris collection site at Mint Springs Valley Park on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Until then, the debris collection will remain on the same schedule.
Weekday hours: 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Weekend hours: 7 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The Ivy Landfill will continue to accept vegetative storm debris from individual residents (no contractors) free of charge during their normal operating hours, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Normal tipping fees will apply after Saturday, July 28,2012.
To date, a total of 2,422 loads and 14,682 cubic yards of debris has been collected at all Albemarle County debris collection sites, with 1,586 loads and 9,760 cubic yards being collected at Mint Springs.
The County has been providing debris collection services for almost a month following last month's major storm, and for 13 days straight the County's four sites were open 12 hours a day to provide service to local residents.
