Waynesboro swept a doubleheader from visiting Covington Saturday night in Valley Baseball League action, winning game one 7-2 and game two 4-3.
The Generals improve to 28-11 and lead the VBL South standings by three-and-a-half games over Harrisonburg with four days left in the regular season.
Waynesboro's magic number to clinch the division is two games. The Generals and Turks have already clinched playoff spots.
Staunton lost at Rockbridge 8-2 Saturday night, and the Braves (18-23) are three games out of a playoff spot with three games to play.
