Albemarle Post 74 Advances to U-17 American Legion District Tournament Finals

The Albemarle Post 74 Under-17 American Legion baseball team beat the Post 55 Eagles 16-2 Saturday night in the winner's bracket game of the district tournament at Monticello High School.

With the win, Albemarle (22-10-1), advances to Sunday night's district tournament championship.

Post 74 will play the winner of Post 55 and Post 320 in the double-elimination tournament.

Post 320 eliminated Staunton Post 13 Saturday night after Albemarle beat Staunton Friday night.

Post 74 blew the game open with six runs in the third inning to take an 11-2 lead after three.

If Albemarle loses Sunday night, a winner-take-all championship game will be held Monday night at 7:00 at Monticello.
