A middle school choir in Charlottesville is bringing home a bronze medal from the World Choir Games.
The Burley Middle School Women's Choir, better known as the Bearettes, took part in the 2012 World Choir Games in Cincinnati. The students won the bronze after competing against some of the top choirs in the world.
Members of the Bearettes say the atmosphere was similar to the Olympic Games.
Elena Schmelter of the Bearettes said, "The way it was set up and everything it was like the Olympics of singing. It was really fun it was really nerve-wracking when we went in and everyone was altogether and you could see all the choruses together."
The Bearettes raised $35,000 through fundraisers to help them get to the games. The girls said they'd love to go back to the next competition in 2014 and win the gold.
