As first lady Michelle Obama prepares for her trip to Charlottesville Friday, some women got together Thursday to talk politics, personal lives, and everything in-between.
The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce held its Business Women's Round Table Thursday. It was a brown bag networking event held at the Cavalier Inn near the University of Virginia.
The program's chair Brooke Jenkins says it's important for women to speak up about the issues that are important to them.
"There's a whole bunch of women decision makers both in their business and possibly in their families, so I think that the woman voice is very important and I think that it's wonderful when you can hear that voice through any candidate's mouth," she said.
The Business Women's Round Table meets on the third Thursday of every month. It's open to all chamber members, including men.
