The Oak Grove Theater has been nestled into the Augusta County countryside for almost 60 years, and they're one step closer to insuring their future.
The outdoor theater near Verona seats hundreds of people every summer under the oak trees for some live entertainment. The Oak Grove Theater owns the land they're on, but recently took on a mortgage for some surrounding land.
Terry Southerington on the Oak Grove Theater Board of Directors said, "To survive as an outdoor theater in a time when the roads are being straightened, farmland is being given over to development. We're an outdoor theater. We can't have a development on our back doorstep because you wouldn't be able to hear."
The Oak Grove Theater is getting ready to kick of a capital campaign to pay off their mortgage.
