A community discussion about building local economies took place in Albemarle County Wednesday night.
More than 100 people came out to the Carmike Theater to screen the film "Fixing the Future." It focuses on ways to create local business alliances and create local currencies.
A discussion and ice cream social followed that screening.
Daria Brezinski, who attended the screening, said, "I really believe that supporting local businesses is the way to go, and Charlottesville is the perfect place for that."
Wednesday night's event was a part of a nationwide initiative called Fixing the Future Across America. Click here for more information about the movie.
