Congressman Robert Hurt brought his campaign for the 5th District to Albemarle County on Monday.
One of the biggest issues so far in the race the best way to grow the economy and create jobs in the district. Hurt says he'll be using his record as a proponent for job creation in congress when he goes up against Democratic challenger John Douglass in November.
"We have done everything we can in congress on our side, on the House side, to offer a positive vision for growing jobs in this country by reducing the red tape and the bureaucracy that gums up job creation," said Hurt.
Hurt says big government is one of the main barriers to reducing unemployment. That's one of many philosophical issues that are coming to characterize the race for the 5th District.
