Fifth District congressional candidate John Douglass was in town Monday to unveil his "Help Virginia Families" plan.
A press conference was held Monday afternoon at Burley Middle School. The plan strives to offer a number of policies that support parents and students, as well as protect veterans and retirees.
Douglass said, "The world is changing and policies have to change and what hangs in the balance are the new policies going to be policies that support our families or are they going to be policies that support some little small one percent of our population."
Douglass was also in Danville and Bedford earlier Monday. He is facing Congressman Robert Hurt for the 5th District seat.
