An Albemarle County grocery store has jumped the final hurdle to become a reality. Monday, the Architectural Review Board approved the final exterior design of The Fresh Market.
It's going in the Albemarle Square Shopping Center in the old Circuit City building. The latest tweaks were to a wall facing Rio Road and screening rooftop mechanical equipment.
Fred Missel with the Architectural Review Board said, "Circuit City being vacant for two years now probably, at least that. It'll be nice to see that rejuvenated. A really nice frontage created in that area."
Those representing The Fresh Market were unable to comment after the meeting about when the store might open.
