CAAR Releases 2012 Mid-Year Market Report - NBC29 WVIR Charlottesville, VA News, Sports and Weather

Monday, the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors (CAAR) released its 2012 mid-year market report.

Here are some of the highlights:

• Second quarter home sales in greater Charlottesville are up 8.6 percent over last year at the same time.
• The city of Charlottesville has the highest increase in second quarter sales, up almost 30 percent from 2011.
• Nelson and Greene counties experienced declines.

Overall, there were 733 homes sold in the central Virginia region in the second quarter.  The area includes Fluvanna, Louisa, Nelson and Greene counties.
