In Valley Baseball League action Sunday night, Staunton lost to visiting Rockbridge 9-5 at Moxie Stadium.
The Braves (16-21) have lost six straight games.
Chase Corn put the Rapids on the board first with a two-run home run in the second inning.
Staunton took the lead in the fourth inning when Jermaine Berry hit a three-run home run for the Braves.
Rockbridge took the lead back in the fifth inning when Andrew Willingham singled to center field with the bases loaded and two outs. Two runs scored to put the Rapids up 4-3.
Staunton's Kenny Jackson tied the game 4-4 with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Each team scored a run in the sixth inning (Rockbridge scored on a error) as the game went into the seventh inning tied 5-5.
The Rapids scored on a wild pitch in the seventh to take the lead for good, and in the top of the eighth inning, Cody Dolan hit a three-run home run to put the game out of reach.
The Braves return to action at New Market Tuesday night at 7:30.
Rain canceled Waynesboro's game at Covington and Harrisonburg's game at New Market Sunday night.
