Charlottesville City Council is set to discuss improvements planned for the east side of McIntire Park at a public hearing on Monday.
With help from the Charlottesville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and after a series of public meetings, council hopes to put in a botanical garden, playground, and picnic area. The skate park could also find a new home in McIntire.
Charlottesville Vice Mayor Kristin Szakos said, "We'd have the skate park because it needs to move because of the interchange that will be put in for the Meadow Creek Parkway."
Charlottesville City Council will hold the public hearing on the McIntire Park plans followed by a discussion at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
