Clark Found Guilty in West Park Market Armed Robberies

The NBC29 newsroom received the following release from Albemarle County

Wayne Martize Clark was convicted yesterday in connection with a series of armed robberies at the West Park Market in Albemarle County occurring on September 24 and October 7, 2011. 

After a 3 day trial, jurors returned guilty verdicts on 3 counts of robbery, 2 counts of abduction, 4 counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and 2 counts of grand larceny.  Clark was acquitted on 2 counts of robbery and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. 

In a case that had previously resulted in a hung jury in late April, jurors today reached a unanimous verdict recommending a total active prison sentence of 74 years for Clark. 

Clark will be formally sentenced in the Albemarle County Circuit Court on October 3, 2012.
