The Valley Baseball League named Staunton all-star Blake Sipe the VBL South Division Player of the Week Monday.
The Fort Defiance High School graduate led the Valley League with a .619 batting average in five games last week.
Sipe also drove in eight runs and stole a base for the Braves.
The rising junior at Radford has started 30 games for Staunton this summer, leading the Braves with a .398 average, 43 hits, and a league-high 17 steals.
Sipe is fourth in the Valley Le age in batting average and second in on-base percentage (.500).
Staunton is 16-15 and in fourth place in the VBL South standings at the All-Star break.
