No charges will be filed after the commonwealth's attorney says two people entered a suicide pact in January at the Red Roof Inn.
Back in January, 46-year-old Laura Daly was found dead inside a hotel room at the Red Roof Inn, and 63-year-old David Highfield was found unconscious and convulsing. Highfield survived.
Investigators found a letter in their hotel room, written by Daly that said the two intended to jointly end their lives, stating they wanted to be together "hand in hand in heaven." Investigators say the pair took sleeping pills in an attempt to kill themselves.
The commonwealth's attorney said in a statement, the decision not to file charges against Highfield was "narrow in scope, case specific and is based on the unique factors and evidence presented in this investigation."
