Sargent & Ferguson Tied For Lead In City Championship - NBC29 WVIR Charlottesville, VA News, Sports and Weather

UVA golf coach Bowen Sargent and Brad Ferguson are tied for the lead at 4-under par after the first round of the Charlottesville City Golf Championship at Meadowcreek Friday.

2010 champion Phil Mahone is one shot off the pace after an opening round 67.

Steve DeMasters is two shots behind the leaders, while Jerry Burton, Tim Pemberton, David Passerell and Kevin Archer are tied with a round of 69.

Archer is a 2012 graduate of Monticello, and had an eagle on the Par Five #1 Hole, which is playing as hole #10 in the tournament.

The senior tournament tees off for their first round Saturday at 8am, with the rest of the field getting going for Round 2 at 9:20 AM.

The final rounds will be played Sunday.
