Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Palmyra
A weekend accident involving a motorcycle and a Fluvanna County fire truck proved fatal for one man.
According to Virginia State Police, on Saturday evening around 6:00 p.m., a Texas man was riding his 2012 Yamaha YFR motorcycle north on Route 15. He lost control of the motorcycle near the intersection with Route 53 in Palmyra. He was thrown from the bike into the southbound lane of Route 15, where he struck a southbound Fluvanna County fire truck.
The motorcyclist, 23-year-old Jacob Beasley of Cypress, Texas, died on the scene. Police say Beasley was wearing a helmet and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
