Nelson County Restaurant Gives Free Lunch to CVEC Workers

Posted: Updated:

Power crews are on the job this Fourth of July holiday trying to restore electricity, but a restaurant in Nelson County offered up some savory relief.

The Blue Toad restaurant gave workers from Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC) free bagged lunches.  That included a four-ounce burger, fries, and a drink.

Blue Toad says it wants to thank CVEC and the crews that came in from out of state for all their hard work.

Doris Ramsey with Blue Toad restaurant said, "I hope they all come in and enjoy our meal. We really enjoy fixing and doing things for people to help them out, to help the community."

The brown bag lunch is a Blue Toad specialty.  Usually customers pay about $6 for it.
