Fire Marshal Investigates Palatine Avenue Fire

Charlottesville's fire marshal is working to determine the cause of an overnight blaze.

The fire happened Tuesday just before midnight at a home in the 200 block of Palatine Avenue near Quarry Park. Firefighters discovered smoke and flames shooting from the side windows.

Investigators say it looks like the fire started in the home's bedrooms and went into the attic.

No one was home at the time and no one was injured.

Charlottesville fire officials are investigating, they are waiting for results from the state lab. According to Chief Werner, it may take a week to get results.
