The Fluvanna County Post 2003 American Legion baseball team beat the Post 55 Eagles 6-5 Monday night at Louisa County High School.
Fluvanna jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on RBI singles from Charlottesville High School rising senior Dale Richardson and Fluvanna County High School rising junior Troy Coleman. FUMA rising junior Charlie Carter and FUMA rising senior T.J. Dudley scored the Post 2003 runs.
The Eagles rallied to take the lead in the second inning. After scoring on an error to cut the lead to 2-1, Courtland High School grad Jesse Belcastro doubled down the right field line to score Massaponax High School's Michael Gallagher and Courtland High School's Aaron Jacobs. That gave Post 55 a 3-2 lead after two innings.
Fluvanna tied the game 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth on a two-out, bases loaded walk that Richardson drew. Orange County High School rising junior Jacob Slaughter scored.
Slaughter had a big night with a couple base hits.
The game was tied 3-3 after five innings, but Post 2003 completed the comeback to win the game in the final four innings.
Fluvanna next plays Staunton at 7:00 Thursday night at Stuarts Draft High School.
