Former UVA runner Robby Andrews placed 5th in the men's 1500 meter run at the Olympic Trials in Oregon Sunday night.
The top three finishers earned a spot on the US Olympic team.
Andrews ran in a time of 3:37.45.
Leonel Manzano finished first at 3:35.75.
Andrews left UVA during his sophomore season this year to race as a professional, and had finished with the third-fastest time in the semifinals, crossing the line in 3:42.14.
UVA rising senior swimmer Lauren Perdue placed 69th in the women's 50 meter freestyle preliminaries in a time of 26.29 seconds in Omaha.
The Cavalier swimmer did not advance to the semifinals, but is already headed to London as part of the 4x200 relay team.
