Charlottesville and Albemarle voter registrars want to set the record straight about new laws that go into effect Sunday.
The city and county will host a town hall meeting with the Charlottesville chapter of the NAACP Monday night. There has been growing concern that the new voter ID law requires a photo, but that is not the case in Virginia.
Albemarle County Registrar Jake Washburne said, "I think that they just thought that with the new law, that a lot of people were going to be a little confused and that if we could assist them in clarifying exactly what the requirements for the new law were, then there would be less confusion on election day."
The meeting starts at 7:00 Monday night at Burley Middle School.
