Hotels from Charlottesville to the Shenandoah Valley are filling up with people displaced by power outages from Friday night's storm.
People staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on Pantops say they looked as far as Waynesboro to find a cooler spot to sleep - and most hotels were booked. The Hilton Garden has no vacancy and says a majority of their customers are from Crozet, North Garden, and Scottsville.
Danielle Trent with Hilton Garden said, "Normally during this time of the week, we're getting folks who are checking out of the hotel and going home and getting ready for the week but today - were getting a large number of calls."
The Hilton Garden expects to be full until power is restored across central Virginia. A search of a couple travel reservation websites shows no rooms at nearly every hotel around Charlottesville and Waynesboro. There are a few hotels in Staunton showing rooms available.
