VDEM to Deliver Bottled Water to Albemarle County

Posted: Updated:

Hundreds of people in Albemarle County are without well water due to the power outages and they aren't getting water promised by the state until Monday.

The Virginia Department of Emergency Management was supposed to deliver water to the Earlysville Fire Station and three other locations by 3:00 Sunday afternoon. But that's been delayed.

People who showed up at the Earlysville pick-up location on Sunday say they are disappointed but trying to remain positive.

Joanne Feminella said, "It's a little difficult with our bathroom situation, but we love our Earlysville Fire Department. I'm just sorry that the truck didn't show up with the bottled water."

The state is scrambling to get water to the Earlysville, North Garden, Crozet, and Scottsville fire departments by Monday morning.
