The United State Olympic Swimming and Track and Field Trials continued Friday night.
Rising UVA senior Lauren Perdue and former Cavalier Matt McLean already punched their tickets to London in the pool.
Former Wahoo Scott Robison raced in the 100-meter freestyle finals Friday night. Six Olympians from the 2008 Games competed in the event, and Robison finished seventh, touching the wall in a time of 48.92 seconds.
Perdue finished 27th in the 100-meter freestyle preliminaries Friday, a day after clinching her Olympic bid Thursday night in the 200-meter freestyle. She'll compete in the 50-meter freestyle prelims Sunday.
Rising senior Brady Fox placed 25th in the 200-meter backstroke prelims Friday in a time of 2:02:33.
In the track and field trials Friday, former 'Hoo Robby Andrews advanced to the finals of the 1,500-meter run, finishing third in his heat and third overall with a time of 3:42:14. Andrews will compete for a spot on Team USA Sunday night in the 1,500m final at 7:37.
Former Cavalier Stephanie Garcia finished ninth in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase final. The three-team All-American at Virginia had a time of 9:50:74.
Two-time All-American and former Wahoo Ayla Smith finished sixth in her heat at 12th overall in her women's 400 meter hurdles semifinal in a time of 56.70 seconds.
