The Capture Charlottesville and Albemarle Photo Contest announced its winners, and you might be seeing their pictures in publications across the U.S.
The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau handed $1,000 checks to the four contest winners Friday morning. Ten runner-ups walked away with a $100 prize.
Bob Mical, one winner photo contest winner, told us the secret behind his winning snap shot.
"Photographers love what we call long light, which is when the suns low in the sky and it was just at that golden hour right when the suns coming up, not quite sunrise but a little later," he said.
The contest launched in April and over 1,500 photos were submitted. They all have a shot at being picked up by magazines and advertisements across the country.
