Waynesboro Tops Staunton 4-3

Waynesboro jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, and hung on to beat Staunton 4-3 at Moxie Stadium Wednesday night.

Brandon Murray went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI for the Generals (15-7), while Caleb Palensky also drove in two runs.

Ben Verlander hit a solo home run for the Braves (9-12).

Harrisonburg lost 4-2 at Covington.

Waynesboro will host the Lumberjacks Thursday at 7pm, the Turks welcome in New Market, and Staunton travels to face Rockbridge.
