Staunton Post 13 won a slugfest over Fluvanna County Post 2003 15-10 Tuesday night in American Legion baseball action at Stuarts Draft High School.
Staunton jumped out to a 4-0 lead with four runs in the first inning.
Fluvanna (6-5) countered with an RBI double from Fork Union Military Academy rising senior Christian Hackenberg in the top of the second.
Post 13 scored two more runs in the bottom of the second to lead 6-1 after two on RBI singles from Riverheads High School grad Kyle Armstrong and Fort Defiance High School rising senior Jason Collins. Collins also had a two-RBI double in the first inning. Stuarts Draft HS grad Cody Riley also had an RBI double in the first inning.
Albemarle Post 74 won its seventh straight game Tuesday night, winning at Spotsylvania Post 320 12-5.
William Monroe High School rising senior Ryan Leake went 4-for-6 with three RBI in the win.
Saint Anne's-Belfied grad Brett Johnson was 2-for-5 with a triple and three RBI for Post 74.
Monroe grad Ryan Morris got the win on the mound.
Albemarle (7-2) returns to action Thursday night on the road against Fredericksburg Post 55 at Courtland High School.
