A Charlottesville church is welcoming diversity by encouraging new members to feel accepted in faith.
About 50 people brought food for a "Pride Picnic" at the park outside Sojourners United Church of Christ. The potluck celebrates pride weekend and the lesbian gay bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
Jeremy Andreatta with Sojourners United Church of Christ said, "We are all one. We are all together no matter your race your sexual orientation your gender identity your expression - we are one community in faith."
Groups across the country held pride events this weekend. The church hopes today's potluck raises awareness for the LGBT community in Charlottesville.
