Fluvanna to Hold Public Forum on Water, Sewer Development

Posted: Updated:

Fluvanna County wants to hear from you on how to move forward with economic development.

The county is holding two public forum this Thursday to discuss infrastructure and water and sewer development.  The improvements focus on the north end of the county, particularly Zion Crossroads.

Aqua Virginia proposes building a water line from Lake Monticello to that part of the county at a cost of $9 million. Fluvanna County would be responsible to pay $950,000 a year for the service.

Fluvanna County Administrator Steven Nichols said community members could "talk about the proposal we received from Aqua Virginia and talk about alternatives and options in Fluvanna County with a number of people who are knowledgeable about infrastructure support."

The public forums will take place at the new high school at 2  p.m. and 7  p.m. Thursday.
