A mother accused of driving under the influence with her child in the backseat pleaded guilty Wednesday afternoon.
Faulkner pleaded guilty to felony charges of driving under the influence, reckless disregard for a child, and a misdemeanor of driving with a suspended license.
Police say they knew Santana Faulkner was under the influence of a substance when she was pulled over on December 14. Her 3-year-old was in the backseat the whole time.
She was pulled over after driving against the flow of traffic on a winding stretch of Rio Road back in December. Albemarle County police say they did not smell alcohol, but knew she was under the influence. Faulkner even asked officers, "How do I get out of here?"
A blood test found PCP in her system. In court, she admitted to snorting it the day before.
Faulkner will return to court on September 5 for her final sentencing.
