I-81 Crash Backs Up Traffic Near Weyers Cave

A car crash backed up traffic on Interstate 81 near the Augusta-Rockingham County line Monday morning.

According to emergency services the call came in just after 8:00 Monday morning. A car over turned around mile marker 237 north of Weyers Cave injuring one person.

Authorities closed both northbound lanes to land a medical helicopter. All the commotion caused slow traffic in the south bound lanes slowed by people rubbernecking.

Crews opened the highway around 8:45 a.m. No further details on the victim are available.
