The University of Virginia's Faculty Senate is holding an "emergency" meeting Sunday night in response to the ousting of President Sullivan.
The meeting will take place at 5:00 in the Darden School's Abbott Hall. Members are expected to ratify a resolution to express a vote of no confidence in the University of Virginia Board of Visitors.
The faculty senate's executive council will then meet with the board of visitors Monday morning at 9:00.
In addition, the faculty senate received support Saturday from the American Association of University Professors. The nonprofit represents 47,000 members nationwide.
The group passed a resolution Saturday expressing what it calls "deep concern" and "dismay" over the board of visitors' actions. The association is also calling for the board to reconsider Sullivan's resignation.
