It was a disappointing day as just about no one turned out to vote in the state's primary. In Charlottesville, voter turnout stands at about 1 percent.
Charlottesville's Voter Registrar Sheri Iachetta says that's very frustrating. As of Tuesday afternoon, only one person has come to Venable Elementary School to cast a ballot. Among other races, everyone in the state can vote in the U.S. Senate Republican primary.
"We haven't seen anything from the candidates," said Iachetta. "We've not seen signs so I don't know if that has anything to do with it."
Polls are open until 7:00 Tuesday night.
