Grand Jury Indicts Shifflett on Abduction, Malicious Wounding Charges
An arraignment hearing is set in the case against a registered sex offender in Albemarle County.
A grand jury indicted Dillon Lee Shifflett in Albemarle County Circuit Court Monday, on charges of abduction and malicious wounding.
Shifflett was originally charged with abduction, rape and sodomy after allegedly assaulting a female in February. He is due back in Albemarle Circuit Court August 7.

On February 6, 2012 the Albemarle County Police responded to the 1900 block of Craigs Store Road for a reported assault. Upon arrival officers met with the reporting party, who stated that she had been a victim of non-consensual sexual act. Through this investigation officers ascertained that similar incidents had occurred approximately one week ago.
The Albemarle County Police have arrested Dillon Lee Shifflett. Shifflett, a registered sex offender in the Commonwealth of Virginia, 21 years of age, of Esmont, Virginia, has been charged with two counts of abduction, two counts of rape and one count of sodomy.
Shifflett is being held at the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail awaiting a bond hearing on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in the Albemarle County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
