The history of Charlottesville is coming to life starting this weekend. More than 50 activities will highlight and honor the city's diverse history.
The Virginia Festival of History starts Memorial Day weekend with ceremonies to honor those who served and died in war. The festival will end with a living history performance involving costumed re-enactors at Charlottesville's Court Square and Lee Park.
Ric Barrick with the Celebrate!250 Committee said, "It's going to be more than just the history buffs that are going to get a lot of enjoyment out of what we're doing, both with people who want to learn about Charlottesville's history as well as the kids and families that really want to participate in the history or living history weekend."
