Albemarle County building inspectors are uncovering new earthquake damage. Work on two projects is now underway at the county office building on McIntire Road.
A project manager says they are removing and replacing exterior bricks. An engineering report indicates the August 2011 earthquake damaged the bricks.
They are also repointing bricks in other areas from wear and tear. The building was constructed in 1939.
The project will cost about $484,000 and should be done in two months. The county is waiting on potential insurance money.
