Culpeper police are seeking leads into the alleged robbery and pistol whipping of a 44-year-old man early Saturday morning in his apartment.

The victim flagged down Officer Kevin Tooley in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven in the 400 block of South Main Street about 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

He alleged that a black male knocked on his door about 1 a.m., Saturday. Once inside, the robber stole an undisclosed amount of money and some jewelry. The robber allegedly struck the victim with a handgun during the incident. The victim had a laceration to his cheek.

The victim alleged that the robber took a significant amount of money he had been saving to pay for a relative's funeral.

The man told police that he saw the robber, who is described as a slender black male taller than 5' 6" and wearing jeans and gray sweatshirt, at the same 7-Eleven store earlier in the day. He said the black male was in the company of a white female with blonde shoulder length hair and wearing sweatpants.
