Public safety will take center stage Wednesday night in Greene County. Sheriff Steve Smith will hold the first ever public forum.
It's a chance for people to ask questions, provide feedback and voice concerns about issues in Greene. Sheriff Smith will also give a quarterly update on crime in the county and what's being done about it.
"The whole motto of the sheriff's office now is putting citizens first," he said. "And we want to keep the citizens involved in everything we do, make them aware of what's going on in the sheriff's office to let them know what we're doing for them."
Sheriff Smith says they'll hold one of these every four months. Wednesday night's forum starts at 7:00 at the Ruckersville Volunteer Fire Department on Route 33.
