Sirens sounded Wednesday morning the North Anna Nuclear Power Station, but it was just a test.
The three-minute tone is part of a quarterly test by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.
If this were an actual emergency, people nearby would hear four separate 3-minute tones over fifteen minutes. The next test is slated for August 15.
According to the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, all 68 sirens worked properly in Wednesday's test.
