Man Charged with DUI in Albemarle County Wreck

A 34-year-old man is charged with driving under the influence as he recovers from significant injuries sustained in a car wreck.

Albemarle County Police say the single-vehicle accident happened shortly after 12:00 a.m. Friday on Plank Road near Monacan Trail Road.

Wesley Evans of Schuyler was driving the vehicle with no passengers. A Pegasus helicopter flew Evans to the University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment. He is said to have significant injuries but is expected to survive.
