Police are investigating a fatal crash in southern Albemarle County. Corey Morris, 34, of North Garden was killed following a head-on collision Thursday afternoon.
The wreck happened shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Route 29 south near Covesville Road. Police say a truck crossed the median and hit a tractor trailer, forcing the rig to overturn.
Morris, the driver of the truck, died at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed for around six hours, but is back open Thursday night.

On May 10, 2012 at
approximately 2:50 P.M. the Albemarle County Police responded to the 6000 block
of Monacan Trail for a reported vehicle crash involving two vehicles. A pick-up truck traveling south on Monacan
Trail crossed the median and impacted a tractor trailer traveling north.
The driver of the pick-up
truck, Corey O. Morris, 34 years of age, of North Garden, Virginia, was
pronounced dead at the scene.
This crash is still under
investigation by the Albemarle County Police Department's Crash Reconstruction
Team.
