UVa basketball coach Tony Bennett has signed a 5-year contract extension keeping him at Virginia according to the Washington Post and Richmond Times Dispatch.
Bennett led the 'Hoos to the NCAA Tournament this past season for the first time since 2007. Bennett will continue to make 1.7 million per year according to the report. He will get a 500,000 bonus if he is still the Cavaliers coach following the 2014 season.
Last season Bennett led Virginia to a 22-10 record despite several injuries and two transfers that left the Cavaliers with just seven scholarship players by the end of the season.
In recent weeks, Virginia has added two players, getting forward Anthony Gill who will transfer from South Carolina and shooting guard Taylor Barnette who became Virginia's fifth member of Virginia's 2012 class.
