A man accused of murder will not be back in court until July.
Forty-three-year-old James Melvin Smith of Louisa County is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 84-year-old James Weaver.
Police say Weaver died after Smith hit him over the head in his Orange County home about a month ago. Autopsy results indicate Smith died from blunt force trauma to the head.
Smith was set to have a bond hearing Wednesday morning, but the court continued it until July 11. He is still in custody.
There is still no word on a possible motive.
